Welcome! This web site is for mental health clinicians interested in clinical skills for suicide prevention.
From this site, you have access to a unique competency-based continuing education training program.
For clinicians wanting to build a foundation of knowledge and skills for working with clients at-risk for suicide, the information in this learning site is for you.
Two on-line modules teach core competencies for working with clients at-risk for suicide. Engaging lessons focus each clinician on his/her suicide-related attitudes and approaches. After completing the learning activities in both modules, take the course assessment quiz to check your knowledge.
The highlight of this continuing education program is a two-day classroom workshop for mental health clinicians, based on core clinical competencies for recognizing and responding to clients at-risk for suicide. For schedules and workshop locations, visit American Association of Suicidology.
Guests are welcome, but you will not be able to take the quiz, which is a requirement for enrollment in the classroom workshop. Please register with your email address first. To register, click Log-in at the upper right of the screen.
To begin, click on Clinical Skills Training Program below, where you will be prompted to log-in with your user name and password.
The Community Learning Site has special features for course participants such as group forums and on-line seminars.
An enrollment key is required to join this site. The enrollment key is given to participants during the classroom training program called Recognizing and Responding to Suicide Risk: Essential Skills for Clinicians. For enrollment information, contact the American Association of Suicidology.
